BIO
Born of music-loving parents in Montreal, Vincent Beaulne decides at four years old that he will become a musician. As a child, he learns to play the guitar by listening to the Stones, Dylan, Ferré and Vigneault, then discovers Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Skip James and Mississippi John Hurt’s blues. He tries his hand at songwriting and launches his first bands in high school; it is also at this time that he composes his first theater scores, which he still does today.
In the 70’s, Beaulne goes to work on a ship to save money, then buys an Econoline with his best friend to go discover blues and jazz; these three months of exploration will take them to Memphis, Jackson, New Orleans and California.
In 2005, the musician makes his dream come true and launches Blues Delight, a band with whom he will record three albums and participate in many festivals. He has been a close collaborator of Bob Walsh, who sang many of his songs. He is now artistic director of the Blues Camp, a project by the Montreal Jazz Festival for young musicians. The next years will be dedicated to song writing and composition, which will become The Voice Is Mine, an album that has been released in Fall 2017.
